Why Fostering Saves Lives

By United4Animals Foster Program · July 11, 2026

Foster homes free up shelter space and give animals a real shot at recovery before adoption.

Every foster home we open is another life we can save. Fostering gives animals -- especially puppies, kittens, and pets recovering from illness or trauma -- a calm environment to heal before they're ready for adoption.

Foster volunteers tell us the experience changes them too. You get to watch a scared, shut-down animal turn back into themselves, one day at a time, and then hand them off to a family that will love them forever.

We provide all supplies, covers all veterinary costs, and support every foster with our team on call. If you've ever thought about fostering, this is your sign to apply.
